Journey Toward the Light with Vision

Saturday, August 6th, 2016, 12:00-2:00pm

Join Robin Penney for an all-levels sweaty and soulful vinyasa practice that will incorporate elements of refined alignment as we journey toward a “peak pose.” This class will follow a ladder flow sequence, where we add on a little bit at a time into the flow, learn various pieces of an advanced posture, practice variations on that posture so it’s accessible to all, and finally put it all together into a celebratory final flow. Move toward your vision through the journey of yoga!

Vinyasa Sequencing with Key Actions: A Teachers Workshop

Saturday, August 6th, 2016, 2:30-4:30pm

Wanna learn how to teach your students how to work toward “peak poses” by adding key alignment actions into your vinyasa flow sequences? Join Robin Penney for an interactive and collaborative workshop for yoga teachers! We’ll explore how to select a peak pose for a given class, how to break it down into its component parts, how to focus on a key action in the body and weave that into a meaningful theme for your students. Finally, we’ll play with how to introduce these alignment details into a Vinyasa flow sequence. Open to current yoga teachers and to teacher trainees enrolled in a 200hr yoga teacher training.

Note: it will be useful to also attend the accompanying yoga practice “Journey Toward the Light of Vision” so our work together will be more concrete.

Location: Nova Yoga, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada
